Why You Image  should be Drinking Pineapple Juice

Why Pineapple Juice?

Pineapple juice is one of the most amazing things you can drink. It contains tons of great vitamins that are great for your body. It also contains something called bromelain, which is only existent in two different fruits and is incredibly good for you. This hub will help explain exactly why you should start drinking pineapple juice for a more healthy life.

The many uses of Pineapple Juice

Pineapple juice is useful for many things as I’ve mentioned. These are things Pineapple Juice is commonly used for.

  • Helps to Cure Colds

Pineapple juice is quite useful when trying to cure a cold. It contains 100% vitamin C in a serving, compared to 120% for orange juice. The vitamin C from pineapple juice helps to build up your immune system to fight a cold. But that’s not all pineapple juice does to help a cold. It can help to soothe a sore throat, or prevent a cough. It may also help prevent nausea and help with the body aches commonly associated with a common cold.

  • Arthritis Relief

Pineapple juice is useful when combating rheumatoid arthritis, as it is anti-inflammatory.

  • Aiding Digestion

Pineapple juice can be used to aid digestion or help with bowel movements as well. It contains a good amount of fiber (0.5 grams in an 8-ounce glass) so it will help digest food. People who have trouble digesting proteins will commonly drink pineapple juice after a meal involving a lot of protein due to the amazing effect it has on digestion.

  • Helps to strengthen teeth and bones

Both your teeth and your bones contain something called hydroxyapate, which contains calcium. It just so happens that pineapple juice also contains a good amount of calcium as well, which leads to it helping strengthen your teeth and bones, much like milk

Bromelain

Pineapple juice is one of the few things in the world that contains Bromelain. Bromelain is a highly sought after enzyme, as it is an anti-inflammatory agent. Often times people will pay quite well for pills of Bromelain, however small amounts are found naturally in pineapple juice.

What is in Pineapple Juice?

Pineapple juice, as I’ve said, is composed of many different kinds of nutrients. Here is what’s in 100 grams of pineapple juice (3.52 ounces)

  • Vitamin A : 130 I.U.
  • Vitamin C : 24 mg.
  • Calcium : 16 mg.
  • Phosphorus : 11 mg.
  • Potassium : 150 mg.
  • Carbohydrates : 13.7 gm.
  • Calories : 52

As you can see, it’s quite rich in many different nutrients.

Processed or Fresh?

If you’re choosing between processed or fresh pineapple juice, you usually want to go with fresh juice. As you’re usually drinking pineapple juice for it’s rich nutrients, going with processed juice will contain much less nutrients than fresh juice.

We plan on adding new fresh juices on the truck and yes some will include pineapples.

Fresh Juices vs Fresh Smoothies

Many people are beginning to realize that they are not eating enough fruits and vegetables daily. Fresh Juices and Smoothies are 2 of the easiest ways to add more fresh fruit and vegetables into your diet.

People often ask should I juice or should I blend my fruits and veggies. My answer is, do both. They both have great benefits… **BUT, you need to be careful when juicing and I will go into detail about why later on.

Lets break down the differences between juicing and blending;

Some of the benefits of blending are that the fibers of the fruits and vegetables are left inside of the smoothie making it thicker and a lot more filling. Depending on ingredients can help improve energy and can assist with weightless.  A smoothie can be great as a meal replacement. You can easily add energy boosters and superfoods (such as maca, goji berries, etc.). Something I like to blend into my smoothies for breakfast is uncooked organic oats. One of our favorite smoothies is pineapple spinach mango banana  with coconut water.

Some of the benefits of juicing are,  you are able to drink a ton of nutrients in one 12 oz cup of juice. When you juice, you are extracting the nutrients of what ever vegetable or fruit you choose. So you are basically getting concentrated nutrients. When you juice, the fibers are separated from the juice, making it easier for your body to absorb the nutrition of the vegetables and fruits fast. Juicing the right vegetables and fruits can alkalize your blood quicker than blending. It is well-known that cancer can not survive in an alkaline environment.

**When juicing a lot of people tend to juice all sweet fruits. While once a day this can’t hurt. Just be conscious of the amount of sweet fruit you use. **

So both juicing and blending are great ways to add more fresh fruit and vegetables to your diet. Smoothies are great for quick on the go meal replacements. Juices are great for flooding your body with nutrients.

Hope this helps out.

Bottling Juices At The Salad Man & Juice Bar

Standard

providence food truck

Hello SMJB fan. Sorry for the long silence. We have been working on ideas for The Salad Man & Juice Bar this spring. We are still out and about providence doing catered events for the winter months. Check out our catering menu http://www.itssaladman.com if your looking for some great lunch or dinner.

So, one of the ideas we have come up with is bottling our juices for quicker service, Detox’s or shipping options for our out of state fans. We are also working on gluten free and vegan desserts. So far we have managed to create an awesome gluten free and vegan chocolate chip cookie. This cookie is soft and moist, not crunchy like most gluten free cookies.

We have come up with some awesome new smoothie ideas we think you will love. Here’s a little hint on what we are working on. You may need a spoon with these smoothies. Very vague clue, we know but trust you will love this idea.   So need less to say we can wait for spring to break.

As you may have noticed we have been hard at work with our website which is close to complete http://www.itssaladman.com

Please remember to like us on http://www.Facebook.com/itssaladman and check out our new website http://www.itssaladman.com

Stop Drinking Unneeded Calories

Standard

So often we just eat or drink with out even noticing what we are putting into our bodies.

Above is a picture of 3 popular drinks. The beverage was removed and the amount of sugar in each drink was put back in.

Now ask your self would I REALLY drink all that sugar???

I decided to write this because I was so surprised by the actual amounts.

My main goal is to just raise the awareness of these issues that we face daily.

We always recommend fresh juice, fresh smoothie or drinking water when eating out. These amounts of highly processed sugar are unnecessary .

The Salad Man & Juice Bar food truck out of Rhode Island is focused on providing healthy and nutritious food that tastes amazing.
